Uniting for Good – Transforming Bujjo Village, Mpigi

In the spirit of the Rotary Year 2025/26 theme, “Unite for Good,” seven passionate Rotary Clubs in Uganda; RC Kampala Impala, RC Kira, RC Nsasa, RC Sonde, RC Kampala Morning Stars, RC Kampala Early Bird, and RC Saturday E-Jazz, have joined hands for a three-year collaborative initiative aimed at creating lasting impact across Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus.

This groundbreaking partnership was officially launched on 12th July 2025 by District Governor Geoffrey Kitakule, marking a powerful commitment to shared service and community transformation. With a combined membership of nearly 300 Rotarians, the seven clubs represent a diverse range of skills, vocations, and energy, united by a common desire to do good, every day of the week.

The collaboration’s flagship project is focused on Bujjo Village in Kyali County, Mpigi Town Council, where a detailed community needs assessment identified urgent challenges in healthcare, sanitation, education, economic empowerment, and interfaith cooperation. The local Health Centre III struggles with inadequate infrastructure to support maternal and child health; the primary school lacks classrooms, a library, and sanitation facilities; and there are few opportunities for vocational training and income generation. There is also a clear need to foster greater unity across faith groups to support collective development.

To meet these needs, the clubs have committed to raising UGX 185 million in the first year, with UGX 40 million already pledged. The remaining UGX 145 million will be sourced through strategic partnerships, donations, and in-kind contributions from individuals and organizations aligned with Rotary’s mission.

RC Saturday E-Jazz is proud to take the lead in the Environment Area of Focus, with a special emphasis on greening Bujjo Village. Our contributions will include tree planting for carbon credit generation, establishing eco-friendly community spaces, and promoting environmental stewardship. This will be our signature impact area, demonstrating our love for both community and planet.

Together, we are building more than just infrastructure; we are planting seeds of resilience, unity, and sustainable progress. This project is a shining example of Rotary clubs uniting for good and creating a greener, stronger future for all.
