On Saturday, July 12, 2025, the Rotary Club of Saturday E Jazz had the distinct honour of hosting District Governor Geoffrey Martin Kitakule for his official visit. The event was held at Bujjo Primary School in Mpigi—a location that added deeper meaning to the day’s purpose and energy.
This wasn’t just a routine governor’s visit. It marked a significant milestone in the Rotary year with the launch of the 7 by 7 Project, a unique and ambitious collaboration between RC Saturday E Jazz and six other vibrant clubs: RC Kira, RC Impala, RC Nsasa, RC Sonde, RC Kampala Morning Stars, and RC Kampala Early Bird. Together, these seven clubs are committing to deliver impactful projects aligned with Rotary’s seven areas of focus, creating synergy and amplifying service in a way that transcends individual club efforts.
The day’s program featured a presentation by our Club President, Rtn. Daudi Mugabi, who delivered a comprehensive report outlining the club’s achievements to date and the strategic direction for the year ahead. The presentation set the tone for a reflective and forward-looking engagement.
District Governor Kitakule, together with MD Jane, offered insightful reflections and practical recommendations to help guide the club’s growth. Their words resonated deeply with members, reinforcing the importance of innovation, collaboration, and continuity in Rotary service.
Following the report session, the District Governor was taken on a tour of Bujjo Primary School, where he was shown the specific projects that the 7 by 7 partnership intends to implement. Each of these initiatives is thoughtfully crafted to address at least one of Rotary’s areas of focus, from basic education and literacy, to clean water and sanitation, maternal and child health, and beyond.
The visit was not only an endorsement of the club’s vibrant culture and commitment to service, but also a celebration of the power of unity within the Rotary family. RC Saturday E Jazz remains deeply grateful for the Governor’s time and encouragement, and is energized to work closely with its partner clubs to turn vision into impact, one project at a time.
