In the true spirit of giving, the Saturday E Jazz Rotary Club partnered with key stakeholders to deliver a heartfelt Christmas outreach project to the residents of Kasenyi Landing Site, Entebbe. The goal was to spread festive cheer while addressing critical health needs in this underserved fishing community.
In collaboration with Alton Basketball Academy, Movit Uganda Limited, and Cheers Limited, and working alongside medical teams from the Uganda Cancer Institute and Mulago Hospital, the club offered a wide range of free health services. These included:
- Cancer screening
- HIV/AIDS testing
- Malaria and bilharzia testing and treatment
- Optical and dental consultations
- General medical checkups
Kasenyi faces significant healthcare access challenges, with most residents relying on small drug shops that lack proper diagnostic tools, medication, and professional care. The outreach brought critical services closer to the people—many of whom had never received such medical attention.
More than just a medical camp, this initiative was a celebration of compassion, wellness, and community. While children engaged in sports and received gifts, adults accessed lifesaving consultations and treatment, embodying the Rotary spirit of service above self.
The “Christmas of Care” not only brought smiles but also provided the gift of good health—making the holiday season truly meaningful for the people of Kasenyi.
